You see these discussions now and again, and you hear successful people often remark on their good fortune. Of course, our language is loaded with all sorts of witty aphorisms on the topic:  “fortune favors the prepared”… etc., etc.

But there is a surprising amount of evidence that attitude and outlook does make a huge difference.

This old item from UK Telegraph from way back in 2003 makes the case. And it’s a good one.

In the business world, optimism is required. It is the lifeblood of entrepreneurship and risk taking. Great things don’t happen until people believe they can happen.

The same is true in life. We get one ticket and it pays to be optimistic, forward looking and to expect good things. It is essential if you want get the full value out of that ticket!
