Great piece in the Economist:
Food nonsense in western countries ranges from the cute to the corrupt. But, whatever silly fetish we like to indulge, from locavore to fair-trade, from pasture raised to “organic”, we should all step back and remember that it is, in fact, NONSENSE!
The ultimate fetish is the anti-GMO crowd. Yet, what they peddle isn’t only stupid, it is dangerous … it can kill people more surely than any evil food scientist ever could.
And by the way, you have NEVER eaten anything in your entire life that wasn’t genetically modified! Except for the few of us who forage for mushrooms, paw paws and dandelions, almost nothing we eat today existed before the hand of man modified it. Think about that next time you bite on one of these crazy food ideas.

Great comment … so much BS out there, so little time.
Here is another item I saw on Whole Foods that strikes pretty deep (and kinda mean).

It’s not far off the mark. But I like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. They have some good stuff I can’t find at the big box grocery. To me it’s all about good food. And thank God we live in times when so much good food is right at our fingertips!
